Several methods of processing wedding photos in LightRoom
As a rule, the wedding photos are divided into:
1. Garbage (photo from technical marriage), who ruthlessly deleted
2. Selected photographs (a few dozen photos for printing on the album, brought to mind in Photoshop)
3. Globe photography (everything else that is not qualifying, and that no garbage) – these photos are processed batch, as a rule, more than a few minutes to photograph is not wasted. Judge for yourself – if on each of the approximately 300 photos to sit for 10 minutes, then it’s 50 hours of pure time it will take that much.
Catching the last photo session with the wedding of friends, I used a few simple steps to pre-processing images in LightRoom just for a group walk-through photos.
First of all, I create a preset in which I ask the basic settings for the correction of photos. WB and exposure I have taken from the data of the image, but other parameters are set as: contrast +47, clarity +61, vibrance +36 and saturation +14; tone curve – medium contrast. No color correction. It turns out the picture, like a intrachamber jpeg, sufficiently bright and contrasting.
Next, have adjusted the settings for each photo individually. In particular, I did the following:
To the bride’s dress was white (and it certainly should be white, except in cases where the original color of the dress champagne) used white balance correction. But sometimes because of the scene in different light sources (light bulbs, natural and flash), the BB does not work – yes, the bride’s dress turns white, but that’s the color of other objects are obtained incorrect. I did in these cases as follows: set up the BB as you like, with the bride’s dress took on a blue hue, which then I cleaned and adjusted color aqua blue (turning the saturation in the negative, and the brightness, contrast, a plus). The main thing here is not to overdo it – although the proportion of blue in the skin is low, this correction we can change the skin tone.
In order to correct skin imperfections in portraits, I used a wonderful tool adjustment brush effect soften skin – 10 seconds to draw the face and the skin becomes smoother, nicer looking picture. More information can be found in the post from Eugene aka Vendigo – Image processing in Lightroom – Soften Skin
In cases where it was necessary to clearly distinguish the central part of the picture, trying at the same time draw attention away from the edges, I used to add vignetting, followed by amplification of black and increase the exposure of tone correction module (sliders blacks and exposure). Individual zones can draw all the same adjustment brush with the effect of exposure +. Below you can see pictures of “before” and “after.” In general, I often used to draw this brush for highlights some areas in the photo and I like the results.
