Mistakes done while taking pictures

That is a picture from the Olympic Games. Doesn’t that look a bit too picture perfect? The players, the ball and even the dark all have very good detailing, but the light source seems to be missing. It’s not really necessary for a photograph to always show where the light is coming from, but it is necessary to tell people under what conditions the photograph was taken. Most certainly, the players in the court where surrounded by dazzling lights, but the picture does not even give the slightest hint of it. The balance of the picture does not seem too good to me also.

Mistakes done in while taking picturesThe fat white line running through the middle of the picture (the upper part of the net) seems to be playing the role of a horizon if they take the player in the red jersey in consideration; the three others on the opposite side do not let you think that. So, quite clearly a horizon behind those players could have made the picture better. Even a slight hint of the ground or the audience sitting around the players could have added more depth to the picture.
